Account security & privacy

Updated 10 October 2026

SmartDataStore records your account identifier, observed IP address, event type and event time when you register, sign in, reset or change account security details, or claim a giveaway. This helps us protect accounts, investigate misuse and explain administrative restrictions.

What we collect

We collect IP addresses at meaningful account events. We do not continuously track your location, collect precise GPS coordinates or infer that people sharing an IP address are the same person. Mobile networks and Wi-Fi connections commonly share addresses.

Access and use

Full IP histories and security decisions are available only to authorized SmartDataStore administrators. Storefront owners and sub-agents cannot view other accounts’ security histories. Shared-IP giveaway activity may be flagged for human review; it does not automatically cause a ban. We do not publish or sell these security records.

Retention

Event records and IP histories are retained for up to 180 days and cleared by scheduled maintenance. Raw IPs in administrative activity records are removed after 180 days. Administrative decisions and reasons are retained for up to two years for accountability and dispute handling. An active IP restriction retains its address while the restriction remains necessary; inactive or expired blocks are cleared after 180 days. Existing account and order records follow their separate retention purposes.

Your rights and questions

You may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate information, or review of its use and retention through SmartDataStore support. If a restriction prevents sign-in, contact the support channel listed on your storefront. Requests are assessed under Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), including any applicable lawful retention obligations.
